John_Bbshrugged3Take a listen to John’s recent conversation with the guys from Barbell Shrugged.  No stone goes unturned as they discuss CrossFit, life in the NFL, kids, and most importantly, the secret to getting strong. Thanks to Mike, Chris, Doug and CTP for putting this together.  Sounds like the next installation of Barbell Shrugged with John Welbourn will consist of more talk of guns, cars, and bacon. “Can I use chains?”

    “Well, do you have chains?”

    “Uh, no”

“Then, why are we even talking about it?”

That was awesome. It was frustrating to continuously hear John get interrupted and talked over. I was surprised there was no mention of Field Strong though!

Great discussion, I wish it went longer! I agree with Chris, it seemed like they were more interested in stating their own opinion, still there was a lot of great content. I was wondering what some of those resources were for early athletic development? That seemed really interesting.

They’re actually worse usually – it’s just their style of conversation.

The interruptions were low this round. Probably shell shocked from the Knowledge Bombs.

What books was John referring to about his kids (physical IQ and building those crawling tracks)

Love listening to John…when he wasn’t getting interrupted by Chris Moore haha. Always cracks me up that guy thinks he’s doing stand up comedy. Doug Larson spoke like 3 times the whole podcast and just let JW speak, Mike Bledsoe cool as ever with occasional input. Chris just can’t help himself guys. He always gets ripped about it.

My favorite was: “You life weights like old people have sex: slow and carefully”

So many knowledge bombs. I could have listened to 10 more hours of John speaking. I love PA radio (really love it!), but I could also go for an episode every now and then of John just talking. Sort of like an audio version of TTMJ. So many great stories.

It was a great podcast! I have listened to it about 3 times now. I just wish Chris didn’t interrupt John. I realize he does this with everyone, but no one wants to hear about what Chris. Especially when John was continuously dropping knowledge bombs. Just let the guru speak.
