John Welbourn is CEO of Power Athlete and Fuse Move. He is also creator of the online training phenomena, Johnnie WOD. He is a 9 year veteran of the NFL. John was drafted with the 97th pick in 1999 NFL Draft and went on to be a starter for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1999-2003, appearing in 3 NFC Championship games, and for starter for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2004-2007. In 2008, he played with the New England Patriots until an injury ended his season early with him retiring in 2009. Over the course of his career, John has started over 100 games and has 10 play-off appearances. He was a four year lettermen while playing football at the University of California at Berkeley. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Rhetoric in 1998. John has worked with the MLB, NFL, NHL, Olympic athletes and Military.     Holy shit. Bulkemia. I know it. @luke you probably don’t remember this but at the seminar at Naperville, I weighed a light 200. Now weighing in at nice solid 210. No protein supplements, just food. Sometimes it’s hard to bend over to tie my shoes or put my pants on I’m so full.

    Actually, since I started CFFB about four years ago I’ve gained between 35-40lbs. Weighed 170/175 when I started…

    Tex – Don’t sweat the plateau. I’m sure John’s told you by now, but muscle growth isn’t linear. It comes in spurts. So there might be a period of no change on the scale, but it will likely move later on. That’s another benefit of Robb’s suggestion of cycling the bulking, which give the body a chance to super-compensate and grow.

    Thanks bro. Since we recorded this episode I’ve gotten to the 210# mark, and got a second DEXA scan. Up 13 total pounds, 8.2 pounds muscle and 2.8 fat…with a BMI of 36. Bone density still in the 99%, so I got that going for me.

      Kind of, yeah. We are all putting in 100 dollhairs. First, you have to make weight. Second, you have to have the “best” body comp swing. Gainers get a 2 point differential handicap because they are whiny bitches.

    Yeah, dollhairs. They’re not worth nothing. You could probably sell them to a doll company and get maybe $4 for them.
