Making his athletes' goals a reality.
This week we bring you a conversation with former football player and competitive lifter, turned coach, Travis Mash. Over the past 20 years, Travis has dedicated his life to working with various sport athletes and currently he is coach to many high level lifters both at his North Carolina facility and abroad.
The chat kicks off with some topical football news and then then Travis discusses his journey from field sports to weightlifting. John and Travis spend much of the discussion trading stories about the challenges and discoveries of playing football at a high level. Eventually, the two switch gears to Louie Simmons. Travis candidly discloses what he feels makes the training at Westside one of the most unique in the world.
Coach Mash has more than a few stories to illustrate just how the hard work of a hopeful teenager can amount to greatness. Although most would say he's been a blessing to nearly all the athlete's he's worked with, he maintains that it is he who is fortunate to have the opportunity to make dreams come true.
