Confirm or Deny your Principles.

Every well rounded strength and conditioning program has two distinct elements. At PAHQ, we refer to those experiences as Science Class & Birthday Party. Enter Jay Dawes, PhD – the ultimate combination. [Twitter @JayDawes76] Hear how the Vice President of the NSCA meandered through his career educating himself and in turn, his athletes. He is now the Coordinator of Athletic Performance at the University of Colorado and has the performance industry leaders on speed dial.

Today we get an inside look at what it’s like creating studies, sifting through the research findings, and maybe or maybe not, getting published. Like any labor of love, the science of performance is a long road with it’s unique challenges. Hear how Jay maintains the integrity of his research through ethical practices like communicating his expertise to the coaches involved. Dawes believes that it’s more important to save an athlete from a foreseeable injury than obtaining a completely uninterrupted study.

If you’re an aspiring performance academic this interview with Jay is a must listen.
