How meticulous is your coaching routine? If you’re not keeping track of everything down to the music that was playing, you need to get on Mike Hill’s level. He is notoriously detail oriented and extremely practical in his approach to college level strength and conditioning. What compelled him to hire a young Tex “Chris” McQuilkin at Georgetown University? Tex’s fresh coaching style may have gotten him the job but it also got him reprimanded for mild insubordination. Hear Coach Hill [@Lichense_2_Hill] talk what it’s REALLY like to coordinate with a sport coach. He describes it as akin to “foreign affairs”....someone has to bend on something to make it work. A seamless transition to dark matter and vibrational frequencies round out another cosmic episode.

 

When Coach Mike Hill of Georgetown University came to work at the home of the Hoyas, the weightroom was on the second floor of a building. “No drop” rules and simplistic equipment was never perceived as a detriment. It was a point of pride, indicating that the success of the athletes was a testament to the coaching, not the technology. Cut to twelve years later and Mike is still finding ways to use the scientific method in his coaching. As former mentor to a young Texas McQuilkin, Mike speaks to the qualities he looks for in his staff. Nonconformism is encouraged, boots and jeans...optional. Mike is clearly passionate about connecting with his athletes but he’s also quite the curious cat. Hear how he’s applying information construct theories to his own coaching philosophy. A strength and conditioning coach since 2009, Cali has worked with numerous athletes spanning from rugby players to cross country skiers.Almost immediately after finding CrossFit in 2010, she was introduced to a program that better suited her athletic goals.With her existing background in powerlifting and football, she became a natural devotee to CFFB/PowerAthlete and testament to it's effectiveness.In 2012, she left D.C. and headed for the state named after her to be a part of the CrossFit Football Seminar Staff and a Jedi of Power Athlete HQ. Cali currently resides in Seattle where she works full time in law enforcement.
