Find Your New Field of Competition

What once began as a professional relationship between a S&C company and a few tech nerds quickly evolved into a long term relash with the goal of empowering athletes. Ben Crookston of Train Heroic [@TrainHeroic] brings purpose to this week’s episode with Luke and Tex, diving into the principles that shaped his vision. The bros also discuss the roles of leaders and followers in today’s world and how the two are closely intertwined despite the negative connotation of the term “follower”. How can one translate their competitiveness, passion, and work ethic from one symbolic field of play to another? Ben has done it and shares his story of success with our billions of listeners.

“It takes far more energy to unlock someone’s creativity than it does to tell them what to do.” Wise words from a man who struggled himself to find an appropriate outlet for his passion, personal values, and nerdy interests. Ben Crookston, founder of Train Heroic [@TrainHeroic] eventually decided the best way for him to find fulfillment was to create the outlet himself. While this seems like a courageous and risky act, Ben explains that risk is inevitable in everything we do and that shifting societal norms are the reason people shy away from creating. It’s this kind of soft thinking that prevents passionate individuals from achieving the exact one thing they desire…impacting the world around them for the better. How can we combine our unique experiences and talents to achieve just that? Step one: stop comparing yourself to other people who ARE NOT YOU. Step two: listen to this episode…everyone else is doing it.
