Taking Ownership & Talking Sh*t

NFL stories aplenty in this week’s episode with Coach Kav, Justin Kavanaugh [@CoachKav]. As the owner of Sports and Speed Institute and author of “Man Up”, Coach Kav is plenty familiar with what’s required of athletes at the highest level. Kav has an interesting take on NFL talent, noting that while it is possible to sneak by with less than optimal athleticism, it’s impossible to survive without the utmost mental toughness. What does he deem to be the riskiest part about college and pro football players heading back into the season after COVID? Some classic football talk to lead us into fall.

This is an ad. Please consider our shameless self promotion.

Coach Justin Kavanaugh may have agreed to come on the show under the guise of talking about Sport and Speed but little did he know that our crew of deep thinkers would pull him into a classic PA Radio vortex. Kav unloads the hate in heart for how sport is changing. He longs for the days where shit-talking was like donning a warm blanket and mental toughness was developed, not taught. After several decades of coaching predominately football players, he has a keen eye for who will withstand pain and sacrifice at the highest level. And if you only tune in for the movie reviews…go to hell. Just kidding. Plenty of football and wrestling movie banter towards the end. Pour yourself two fingers of bourbon and unwind with your podcast besties.
