In this episode the Crew dials the voicemail to answer a question from a loyal Power Athlete Radio listener:

Hey there Power Athlete, my name is Korey Read. I am thirty-five and I am on week 15 of Bedrock training program. With the last month or so, I’ve had what I think is lifters elbow experiencing some pretty sharp pain and my median elbow and my burning sensation along the lateral side of the joint. It flares whenever I open jars, shake hands, or pour a cup of coffee. I’d like to keep lifting, but I’m not sure if I’m doing more harm than good. I hope you guys can help with any thoughts you might need. Thank you. Bye.

“The greatest pain in life is to be ignored” – My Elbow

What is lifter’s elbow? Basically the same thing as golfer’s elbow, but your huge ass came from lifting heavy weights, not just your goofy pants. A fairly common sensation for those training hard or are getting older that sometimes just goes away, until it doesn’t. Other times, pain flares up when you open pickle jars, pour a cup of coffee, or you pull landscaping duty.

You can count on Power Athlete Radio to ease your tension and get you back in the lifting game as Dr. Matt Zanis elbows his way in for another episode of the premiere podcast in strength and conditioning. John, Tex, and Dr. Z explore the wrist, hand, and back to find the cause of elbow pain, plus give grip alternatives to keep you training hard and lifting heavy.
