In this episode the Crew dials the voicemail to answer a question from a loyal Power Athlete Radio listener:

Hey John & Texas. My name is Alex and I follow Jacked Street. I actually asked a lot of questions in the feed, but this one seemed appropriate for the hotline, which I’ve heard is always hot. So my question is about maintenance after bulking: is it necessary and how long should maintenance last I read somewhere that following a bulk. It’s worthwhile to maintain for four to six weeks to allow your body to adapt to that new weight and it’s supposed to make the cut more efficient or something. It made some sense to me, but it’s also the sort of thing that sounds like it could be BS, so I need the Power Athlete experts to weigh in. Thanks for taking my call, byyyyyyyeee!

It’s Called Cultivating Mass

John thought he had stomach bloat from salmon protein powder for an entire year. Turns out he was just really bored.

The Power Athlete Nutrition Ninjas join John and Tex to set the record straight on bodyweight maintenance following a bulk. Once you’ve cultivated the mass, what measures does one take to keep it on?

What’s the deal with body resetting its new set weight? Do I switch my focus from calories to macronutrients? How long do I wait for a hard cut so I do not lose too much lean body mass? What are a few body signals I can feel for to ensure everything is functioning proper? Answers to all these questions, John’s salmon protein experience, and more with the Power Athlete Nutrition Crew!
