| Ep 564 – Weightlifting, Movies, and Travis Mash

Author / John

2 Hour Listen

“A coach will impact more people in a year than the average person will in an entire lifetime”.

Training to be the best in your sport is one thing, coaching is a whole other animal. Hear how former powerlifter Travis Mash learned to invoke a healthy shit talking environment, his thoughts on the International Olympic Committee, and his struggles adapting to coaching female lifters. And a healthy dose of movie discussion to remind you that Tom Cruise has never made a bad movie and that Mel Gibson played one hell of a tactical Santa.

Travis Mash takes good weightlifters and makes them exceptional. But he doesn’t mince words about how few actually make it to big events like the Olympics. He’s driven by performance and quite frankly, gets all the social interaction he can handle by coaching. It’s obvious he’s dedicated to his athletes because he knows almost nothing about movies that have come out in the last 5 years. But we won’t hold that against him.
