| Ep 827 – Dr. Sean O’Mara on Visceral Fat. Why Your Abs Don’t Matter.

Author / John

1 Hour 35 Minute Listen

The fat you can’t see that’s killing you. Visceral fat explained.

You can have abs, you can crush WODs, you can even look like you walked off a Men’s Health cover… but if you’re packing visceral fat, you’re playing Russian roulette with your health.

I sit down with Dr. Sean O’Mara, the doc who has made it his mission to expose the fat you can’t see but absolutely need to worry about. Visceral fat is the stuff that surrounds your organs, drives inflammation, and quietly destroys performance from the inside out.

Dr. O’Mara breaks down how MRI technology doesn’t just spot injuries, it can also reveal the hidden truth about your metabolic health. His company analyzes MRIs to show you exactly what’s going on under the hood, giving you the data to make smarter decisions before you end up with a diagnosis you can’t out-train. We cover why visceral fat is the real enemy, how to measure it, and the strategies you can use to eliminate it.

If you care about performance, longevity, or just not dropping dead before your time, this is the conversation you can’t afford to skip. Forget the scale, forget BMI, it’s what’s hiding in your gut that tells the real story.
