What actually works for recovery and metabolic health.
Most gym owners don’t get crushed because their programming sucks or their coaching is soft. They fail because they don’t understand business. Period.
I sat down with Joe Riggio from Business of Strength, the guy who’s been pulling gym owners out of financial quicksand and turning their “passion projects” into actual businesses. We break down why massive, equipment-hoarding gyms bleed cash, and why small, deliberate, boutique spaces with clear pricing and legit marketing are mopping the floor with everyone else. If you still think more square footage equals more success, this one’s going to sting.
We also dig into the real levers that move the needle: choosing the right location, building an actual sales process, and creating a community that exists in real life, not just in your phone. Joe lays out why in-person events always beat fake digital engagement and why investing in a mentor will return more than another year of lurking in Facebook groups pretending you’re learning.
If you own a gym, coach athletes, or you’re plotting your first facility, this episode hands you the hard truths and the roadmap. Listen, take notes, and stop guessing.
