| Ep 861 – The Lost Art of Discipline

Author / John

1 Hour 34 Minute Listen

Resident Dragon Slayer Arash Soofiani is back for a conversation that goes way beyond sets and reps.

Arash and I dig into the movies that shaped an entire generation of lifters, from Bloodsport and Rocky to the action heroes that taught young men what toughness, sacrifice, and discipline looked like before social media got soft. We unpack how those early influences forged our training journeys and why modern culture is losing its edge.

But this episode isn’t just nostalgia and war stories. We’re breaking down the reality of discipline in everyday life, why motivation is fleeting, why consistency matters, and how structure creates freedom. We also dive deep into gut health, performance nutrition, inflammation, and how a broken digestive system can wreck recovery, energy, and mental clarity.

If you’re looking to level up your mindset, training, health, and overall resilience, this episode delivers the hard truths most people avoid.
