Tim walks us through his twenty year history in the study of the anterior cruciate ligament. He explains how the rumors are true – ACL injuries are six times more likely to occur in females than males but the scientific reasons for this may surprise you. Here’s a hint: it has little to do with the Q-angle or hip to knee ratio.
After our discussion of risk factors and the most commonly affected demographic, Dr. Tim elaborates on the best forms of injury prevention. Training in various planes of motion is just one of the suggested means to confront this potentially debilitating injury.
