Author / John

 EPISODE158bEvery problem has a solution.

Jeff Nichols [@vahighperformance] is far more than coach and co-founder of Virgina High Performance. He’s taken his experience both as an athlete and a Navy SEAL and shaped a an effective training philosophy. Although, Jeff will be the first to tell you, his insights are not unique. But in a world where bullshit and superfluous information clouds intent, the beauty of simplicity is often overlooked.

Jeff has worked with NFL teams, Collegiate teams, and individual athletes to impart the theme of “specificity not stupidity”. Just because a training system looks sports specific based on a movement pattern, does not always mean it is. As we know, there are are other factors at play that determine the efficacy and transfer to a position in sport.

He is intelligent, candid, and grounded. His work with youth athletes at Virginia High Performance has allowed him to control the quality and determination of each young mind and body. This is Jeff Nichols and this is Episode 158.

Fun fact: Japan has a fat-tax.

I haven’t done much research into what it is specifically, but it seems to be a tax on certain “unhealthy” foods.
