Strengthen You

Remember rolling into the gym and seeing dudes in stringers? Remember Dinosaur Training? Hell yeah. Host of Renegade Podcast and longtime lifter, Jay Ferruggia [@JayFeruggia] joins us this week to reminisce a bit about the old days of bodybuilder style training and the evolution of gym culture. These days Jay is evolving just the same. Hear how’s been able to make a mental shift and tackle some of his personal goals outside of the gym. You can learn a lot from a man who knows how to laugh at himself.

Before you get your panties in a knot, understand context. Jay Ferruggia [@JayFeruggia] isn’t a man who merely talks about change, he embodies it. Ferruggia has dedicated himself to his own personal development first physically then mentally and emotionally. Part of this journey sparked his desire to create a weekend experience for men to be around other men and develop themselves similarly. This includes opening up about insecurities and sharing painful experiences. Ferruggia believes that the ability to share and learn in this environment of other strong males is anything BUT “toxic masculinity”. The result is more confident and compassionate men who embrace their inner strength as a tool to lead and care for others. Oh, and we also talk about strength and conditioning…listen NOW!

EMPOWER YOUR PERFORMANCE.

This is a friendly reminder that if you have not been preparing for Wade’s Day…Get training. Wade’s WOD is 5 rounds for time of 11 Single arm Power Snatches, 12 Single arm DB Thrusters, and 11 Weighted Pullups. The rep numbers signify the date that Wade lost his fight to cancer on November 12th 2011. You don’t have to do the workout to donate, but I recommend finding a way to think about Wade on that special day.
