Swing for the Fences

The stoic philosopher Seneca said “Associate with people who are likely to improve you. Welcome those who you are capable of improving. The process is a mutual one: men learn as they teach.” This is Logan Gelbrich [@FunctionalCoach], through and through. It’s no coincidence that he’s selflessly lent his knowledge to PA over the years, imparting what he’s learned from his own developmental quest. From sport, to coaching, to business, to personal reflection, Logan has found the nexus between each. Connecting with your athletes requires work and Logan exemplifies the deliberate development. His desire to seek out the people and experiences that will enhance his ability to lead and connect is coupled by his simple love for physicality. This is why people bother listening when he speaks…and you should too.

When a wave of achievement blesses a business or athlete, how many are truly asking themselves if it was a direct result of perfecting what is within their control? This is one aspect of the growth mindset that Logan Gelbrich [@FunctionalCoach] of Deuce impresses upon his coaches and entrepreneurs. A pearl of wisdom borrowed from his college baseball program emphasizes “We will not accept in success that which we would not accept in defeat”. A student of his own philosophies on vulnerability, Logan is now author of Going Right: A Logical Justification for Pursuing Your Dreams which is available for pre-sale on Amazon. As Logan tells us, nothing saddens him more that finding people who are crippled by fear. Taking risks should absolutely not be viewed as weird. Existing in an unfulfilling situation where development is stagnant is fucking weird. Just remember to tuck that shirt in like Poppa Gelbrich when you’re swinging for the fences.

EMPOWER YOUR PERFORMANCE.

If you are still reeling from that conversation, I encourage you to look for Logan’s book on Amazon. Again, the title is Going Right: A Logical Justification for Pursuing Your Dreams. A link to that is in our show notes along with the Deuce youtube video where you can watch the fellas perform ridiculous feats of strength and athleticism and basically look like assholes.
