The truth about strength, and what athletes get wrong about performance.
Strength is a skill and most people are out here treating it like a side quest. I sit down with Kyle Ruth, former CrossFit Games athlete and coach at Training Think Tank, to talk about how training has changed over the last decade, not just in sport, but in the way we build athletes. From the rise of hybrid competitors to the watered-down strength standards we’re seeing today, we unpack where modern training has lost the plot… and how to get it back.
We dig into Olympic lifting, the most under-respected discipline in the performance world, and why more athletes need to be chasing precision, not just power. Then we shift gears into youth development and coaching. As dads raising young athletes, we’re seeing firsthand what works and what doesn’t when it comes to building strong, resilient kids. Spoiler alert: it’s not cones, chaos, or coddling.
If you care about performance, yours or your kid’s, this one’s a must-listen.
