LIFT SOMETHING INCONVENIENT.
Today is a great day. Our two special guests are Rob Orlando of Hybrid Athletics and Logan Gelbrich of Deuce Gym and Original Nutritionals. If those two names sound familiar it’s because they are basically the Devit0-Schwarzenegger combo of the CrossFit Strongman Specialty Seminar. Similar to our very own CrossFit Football, these coaches travel the world in an attempt to introduce the masses to lifting awkward shit.
No atlas stone goes unturned as we dive straight into how Rob got started in this racket and his first impressions of Logan: a young noob with an ego and subsequently, a torn biceps tendon. Find out how Logan was able to shape his gym around the philosophies and practices that he learned from Rob at his first Strongman seminar.
And, you hear strongman but apparently it’s all about the ladies. That’s right. Rob explains how and why the seminar is geared towards the female population. Then comes the science: how many strongman injuries have these guys seen over the years? The number is going to surprise you. Find out why the misconceptions swirling around this sport are actually just a bunch of bullshit.
Do you like getting stronger? Of course you do. Well, if you’ve never tried the “Cold Bar” method, as explained by Rob in this episode, prepare to have your mind blown. This is taking the linear progression to a whole new level.
EMPOWER YOUR PERFORMANCE.

While I may lag a decade or so behind in technological prowess (Luke was supposed to get back to me on what “hashtag” means), I am only two episodes behind on the PA Podcast, on a consistent basis.
So, if I could maybe like, you know, uh, comment or whatever on like, communication style, or, you know, like, how people speak, and, you know, transfer information, or, like, share with one-another, or whatever…
Rob has charisma and a great philosophy, and imparted things unto me in 8 hours that became a permanent part of my training and coaching vernacular. His seminar is 8 hours of pivotal learning, combined with 8 minute demonstrations of why it doesn’t take 40 minutes to “condition.”
All that to say, I appreciate Cali diplomatically directing the conversation back to Rob, when needed.
Thanks dude. Herding cats…
