ZACH EVEN-ESH PERSONIFIES INTENSITY.
This week’s guest starts his day well before the sun comes up to make a 100+ mile drive to coach the wrestlers at LeHigh University. The out of state trek must be paying off because his athletes beat National Champions, Ohio State, last year – a defining victory for Zach Even-Esh and his team.
Zach does not let up. His days are long, his voice is hoarse, but he sucks the marrow out of life and vows to lay down each night bone tired and without regrets.
Think you know what it takes to embody the qualities of a “good coach”? Mr Even-Esh will tell you first hand that it takes a relentless work ethic and an intolerance for mediocrity.
In this episode, Zach imparts his knowledge on finding time to train himself, suffering through and preventing ACL injuries, and the nuances of coaching weight class athletes.
Passionate doesn’t even begin to describe this grassroots authority on brute strength. Have a listen as the self-described family man paints a picture of what it means to truly throw yourself into coaching and why his job extends far beyond the weight room.
EMPOWER YOUR PERFORMANCE.
Zach draws inspiration not only from his family and athletes, but from classic cinematic depictions of struggle like Rocky. Add the following films to your required viewing list:
- Jiro Dreams of Sushi
- Bones Brigade
- Gladiotor
- Rocky I-IV

@cali you snooze, you lose!
Holy. Shit. Zack is on point. Dude is intense. Made me wanna get up and go train right then. Man, what a great episode. Keep this shit coming. Great work. Great guest.
1. How long would this show be had John been there? They would bounce off each other infinitely.
2. Your female listenership should triple once Tex’s commercial spot goes viral.
My apologies if I’ve missed it somewhere but what is the intro song that Cali uses?
Hey-Oh! The country rock song is Kyle Turley’s “Smokin'”.
