Ladies and gentleman, the final results are in. Dominic Toretto walks away from the 2016 Superhero Smackdown as Power Athlete's Fittest Superhero! For some, it was no surprise how this last round went down.
Both Toretto and Hobbs are fighters and had the will to win. The fact remains that only one wanted it enough to walk away a champion.

SUPERHERO SMACKDOWN - ROUND 4 RESULTS
Dominic Toretto of Team Grindstone unleashed the fury on Agent Luke Hobbs, his long time foe, and member team Field Strong in Round 4. While both Toretto and Hobbs put up absolutely stellar numbers on all three workouts of Round 4, only one name consistently sat at the top of the two man leader board.
Torretto has been running from authority figures like Hobbs all his life, it was no different in Event 11. The 380lb yoke did not prove to be a challenge for either of these barrel chested heroes, and didn't slow them down in the least. While he never surrendered the lead in any of the 6 rounds, Toretto only edged out a victory by 6 seconds, finishing in 12:52.
Toretto, having proven himself a very efficient Olympic lifter during this competition, had an opportunity to again reinforce that fact in Event 12. This outlaw handled the Dumbbell Squat Snatches at 100 lbs. with ease! The same can't be said about Hobbs, who showed his overhead limitations in this event. Hobbs incurred 5 costly no reps from head judge Liam Neeson, and the frustration seemed to derail him as he slipped behind.
Torettto absolutely smashed the pegboard. Living the life of an outlaw street racer / mechanic turned leader of an international crime "family" has it's perks. For example, the upper body and grip strength developed from saving loved ones from on top of/out of moving cars apparently has a DIRECT transfer to the ability to climb a pegboard.
Neither the rower nor the Assault Bike proved to be a challenge for Hobbs and Toretto in Petal To The Metal. Both skated through those machines effortlessly. Toretto edged out another victory in Event 12, finishing with a time of 4:35, which was 17 seconds faster than Hobbs.
With the deck stacked in Toretto's favor, all Hobbs could do is seek a small amount of redemption from the 13th and final event, Petal To The Metal 2. Prior to this event, Toretto had already secured the victory so Hobbs literally had nothing to lose... except another 8 reps. Again, Hobbs was handicapped by his limited overhead ability, and what appeared to be a fear of being inverted in the handstand push ups!
Toretto, having spent plenty of time in overturned cars and being a part of plenty of barrel roll accidents, had no issues being inverted or repping out handstand push ups. The 203lb Kettlebell Deadlift was no challenge for either competitor, especially Toretto, who's current deadlift PR is a Lykan HyperSport, which weighs in at approximately 3,000 lbs.
Both competitors found their way across the finish line, but it was Hobbs who found himself crossing it 14 seconds after Toretto.
Not only did Dominic Toretto earn himself the title of Power Athlete's Fittest superhero, he swept all 3 events of Round 4 of the Superhero Smackdown. We asked Toretto how he felt about winning this final round with a sweep. "It doesn't matter if you win by an inch, or a mile. Winning is winning," said Toretto.
2016 SUPERHERO SMACKDOWN - THAT'S ALL FOLKS
The 2016 Superhero Smackdown concludes with a classic hero v. anti hero battle. Out of the 16 Superheroes who showed up to compete in Round 1 of the Superhero Smackdown, only 1 has proven himself worthy of the title of Power Athlete's Fittest Superhero.
Thanks for following this years competition, and congratulations to our Superhero SHOWDOWN winners, and of course, our GRAND PRIZE winner!
