Training for The Task
Kevin Toonen [@strengthelite] is best known for training the Australian Special Forces. While this former soldier is an asset to the SAS training program as an experienced coach, it’s his common sense that seems to be most impressive. He is training highly specialized warfighters and despite the sexy allure of some so-called spec-ops strength and conditioning, he is firmly confident in simply replicating the demands of the job.
When you train with Kevin Toonen, you’re going to get much more than an average weight room experience. That’s why top performers in Australia from rugby to special operations have sought his expertise. This is a guy who has always questioned the validity and application of voluminous training for what can best be described as Power Athletes. Hear how this soldier was able to take his knowledge of the job demands and reverse engineer training to get it done.
