Do organ meats scare you? They should. Their nutritional value is scary good. But this week’s guest, Ashleigh VanHouten [@TheMuscleMaven] doesn’t want you to fear what you don’t understand. That’s why she’s feeeeeding you the recipes that will make the idea of eating organ meats that much more digestible. If you think those shameless puns are bad, just take a gander at her book – It Takes Guts – available on Amazon. It’s safe to say that eating too much liver has never been a risk for anyone…unless you’re Tex and you overdose on Vitamin A because liver is cheap and so are you.
How do you get comfortable eating the animal bits that are most frequently discarded? Try everything! Time to get experimental with the exotic parts of our most tasty meals. Ashleigh VanHouten [@TheMuscleMaven] is just the gal to usher you into this exciting cuisine of guts. Her book, It takes Guts, is an adventure into liver, heart, brain, spleen, blood, and so much more. These nutrient dense goodies may sound intimidating but with the right recipe can please even the most discerning of palates. Hear our chat with her…Listen NOW!
