Our Military’s Mental Health
Rachel Larson [@rlarson_11] has been busy since last time we talked to her. As an enthusiastic researcher based out of Arizona State University, Larson has added Veteran suicide prevention to her long list of research topics. While she’s pivoted from her focus on sport performance and more specifically internal and external cueing, she is embracing this niche population. As she discusses, Veterans have significant and unique risk factors that contribute to suicidality. Hear how her team is crunching the numbers, particularly in AZ to get ahead of this crisis.
If you want to know what’s being done to prevent our prior service members from harming themselves, look no further than this episode with Rachel Larson [@rlarson_11]. There is a lot of data being gathered to determine what geographical and sociological groups may be at the greatest risk. That great work is being spearheaded by Larson and her team at Arizona State University. Making an impact on this issue has become Rachel’s focus and she is optimistic about the implications of the research.
