John Welbourn is CEO of Power Athlete and host of Power Athlete Radio. He is a 9 year starter and veteran of the NFL. John was drafted with the 97th pick in 1999 NFL Draft and went on to be a starter for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1999-2003, appearing in 3 NFC Championship games, and for starter for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2004-2007. In 2008, he played with the New England Patriots until an injury ended his season early with him retiring in 2009. During the podcast (I’m pretty sure it was this one anyway) the topic of too much protein while in ketosis. How much is too much? What could be considered optimal? Thank you.

Sorry but I had to comment on this.
Dr Perlmutter suggests NFL players dont need any more than 60-80g of total carbs per day?
He has clearly either not watched a game, or tried to run sprints while on a ketogenic diet.
have you ever seen any NFL players on a ketogenic diet?
He also mentions kenyan marathon runners not “carb loading”?
I may be wrong, but I’m sure their diet is quite high in carbohydrates, and they are the ones winning races?
