Fatigue is Where Injury Occurs

You may have noticed that Power Athlete has been on a bit of an ACL kick recently. If there were a joint injury pandemic, this would be it. With nearly 120,000 ACL injuries per year in the states alone and an up to 32% re-injury rate, it’s a real bitch. Dr Adam Anz, an orthopaedic surgeon of the infamous Andrews Institute, joins us to provide another perspective on injury, including the use of stem cell therapy and blood flow restriction. What can capillary refill rates tell us about recovery? What can we do to prevent our kids from suffering catastrophic injury? AND if it does occur, what possible benefits can result? Movie reviews and occasionally talking to people smarter than us…that’s what Power Athlete does.

This is an ad. Please consider our shameless self promotion.

The doctor is in the house. All ye in quarantine, heed his warning! So maybe you’ve been throwing around a cinder block for the past few months a-la-Third Monkey. Good for you…but that’s nowhere near game speed, cowboy. As athletes re-enter sport, arousal will be high, enthusiasm and excitement peaking. But let’s not forget that the bod has undergone some degree of deconditioning from the rigors of real time athletic performance. While injuries like ACL tears are good for business, Dr Adam Anz wants to remind you that getting back into play can be risky if not tempered appropriately. As he states “fatigue is when people get injured”. Search your feelings. You know it to be true. Find out how the Crew intends to resume their athletic activities of slow-pitch softball, pickleball, and ping-pong without pulling a hammy. Listen  NOW!
