Weightlifting is a test of work ethic.
This week we are pleased to bring you our conversation with Glenn Pendlay. This long time coach has worked with athletes of the highest caliber from around the country. Originally gaining notoriety at California Strength with the likes of Donny Shankle, Max Aita, and Caleb Ward, Coach Pendlay eventually made his was to the east coast. He now coaches full time with Team MDUSA, a privately funded National Olympic Weightlifting team.
Have you ever wondered what personalities are best suited for Olympic Weightlifting or why great athletes don't always make the best coaches? Coach Pendlay answers those questions in detail in our conversation. And a few interesting points of our chat regarded the semantics surrounding the origin of the term "Catapult Method". Get the real story from Glenn and the no-bullshit answer to the question "Is this really a method?"
Coach Pendlay discusses what it was like to leave Cal Strength and make the transition to Muscle Driver as well as some of his experiences with standout athletes from both. What's on the horizon for Coach Pendlay and Team MDUSA? To find out, stay tuned.
