Nutrition & Recovery | Podcast Ep 435 – How Important is Food Quality for Strength Gains
Author / John
34 Min Listen
In this episode the Crew dials the voicemail to answer a question from a loyal Power Athlete Radio listener:
Hey Luke, Tex, and John. This is Matt in Delaware. My question relates to nutrition and I’m hoping you guys could break down. Why does food quality matter? So why would it be better to eat grass fed beef instead of, you know, grain-fed grocery store beef? Why is food quality more important than just macros. Why does “If It Fits your Macros” not work or why is it not optimal? Alright. I’m out. Thanks guys.
One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well
Food quality trumps macros. Stop using the macro excuse to eat pop-tarts out of a vending machine. If you’re trying to hit your macros with beer, potato chips, and beef jerky there will be a less positive effect than more nutrient dense foods.
John, Luke, and Tex take on a caller’s fully loaded question and breakdown the importance of food quality for leaning out and making strength gains. The Crew lays it all out on the table empowering you to make intelligent food decisions to optimize your hard work in the gym in this 30 min listen.
