When it comes to repairing a torn ACL, there are a few methods used. Often cadaver (dead people) parts are utilized or in many cases, surgeons suggest harvesting some of your own bits to do the job. Unfortunately, as explained by this week's guest Dr Tim Hewett [@Hewett1Tim], the hamstring is often the go-to source. Hewett describes this as "robbing Peter to pay Paul" aka it's bad. REAL bad. In our talk with the doc he explains in detail not only HOW the ACL tears but the function of the precious hamstring and glut in prevention and recovery. If you work with athletes and they have legs, you owe it to them to educate yourself. Listen NOW!
