We are so pleased to welcome back Coach Zach Even-Esh of the Underground Strength Gym. If this is your first time tuning into our conversation with Zach, you are in for a treat. If you happened to hear our last episode with the wrestling and football strength and conditioning coach, you know that this man epitomizes passion.
Every time I hear him speak I’m reminded that some people were just born to coach. Listening to Zach is like breathing a fresh breath of motivation to take on the tough clients, the losing teams, and continue to battle the bullshit. Today’s episode is a bit of a commentary on the woes of our industry but as you’ll hear, the plight of the hard working coach is not without validation.
Sometimes parents and athletes themselves are their own worst enemies. As the guys discuss, many uneducated folks don’t know what they don’t know. Zach even makes a comment regarding the irony of the situation. As he mentions, the people who should be listening to this podcast and others like it, aren’t. The ones who are, probably need it the least. Well, if you are listening tell the shitty coach at your gym to get in on it.
EMPOWER YOUR PERFORMANCE.

A strength and conditioning coach since 2009, Cali has worked with numerous athletes spanning from rugby players to cross country skiers. Almost immediately after finding CrossFit in 2010, she was introduced to a program that better suited her athletic goals. With her existing background in powerlifting and football, she became a natural devotee to CFFB/PowerAthlete and testament to it's effectiveness. In 2012, she left D.C. and headed for the state named after her to be a part of the CrossFit Football Seminar Staff and a Jedi of Power Athlete HQ. Cali currently resides in Seattle where she works full time in law enforcement.
